I've realised a new trend in people going to gyms just to do weights. Now I'm not saying that doing weights is dumb, but I think it's damn dumb. After all, what is the point of doing weights? Might as well go run right? Let me prove to you my point.
1. You can't fight a bomb but you can run from it.
2. There's no winner in a war but there's always a winner in a 100m race.
3. A large brick wall will block you unless you can run around it. I don't think you can punch down a brick wall.
4. Big and disgusting muscles will get you more negative attention than being able to run fast. (Case study: Weddie Jarbone from 4J as compared to Soma Sundram Shivanesh)
5. When you face any problem, running away from it is the best solution. Yes indeed the problem does not get solved - but then again you're away from it. And no one says that all problems MUST be solved. So why worry over solving a problem when you can simply run away?
6. Track stars and football players earn more money than sumo wrestlers or bodybuilders.
7. Being very strong means you are very likely to hurt others. Being very fast means you are very efficient.
8. Because I say so.
Eight reasons good enough for you to want to proceed to the track the next time you want to go to the gym. I'm not telling you to be hardcore and train everyday, just once a month like me would be good enough. Because even though running is important, playing the recorder is more important. And not to mention integration.
BUT if you were to compare stamina and strength, between the two, I would say that stamina owns strength. Or if you like, running owns training weights. 这是无庸置疑的。
