Oh man. I dare not believe my eyes - for right in front of it lies the wysiwyg editor again! COMPOSE MODE! No more tiring days where I have to use bloody html to post!! But then again I guess it's all fated. Today's the last day of CTs anyway.
I mean - it's all over already! Can't you at least show some emotion? Oh wait, stop. This is not right. Emotion is part of Literature, and the 4J pact says that we are not allowed to discuss any more CT. So no more emotion. Just happiness. Happpyyyyyyyyy..
But still, I feel encouraged to talk a bit about today's papers. Since today I took the most papers among everyone. Physics and Literature.
Physics
My MCQ consisted of at least seven "B"s while James said there weren't any. James is very upset because he knows he's not getting full marks, and it's not because of MCQ that has caused it.
Then we talk a bit about circuit. I tried using Fleming's RHR (refer to yesterday) but ended up the current was upwards. I got a bit surprised since the wires were from left to right. Think I won't do well here either.
Finally, Section C was a new initiative by the ever-grand Physics Dept. Talking about elves - something about electrically low frequency or ELF. The question was, "What would you do as the manufacturer of the electric blanket to reduce its hazards?"
Answer: I would not manufacture it at all.
Shit, I think my Physics marks is going to be like my 2.4 timing. <10
Although I very much doubt I can run that now after wasting all my stamina on mugging for all the tests.
Literature
Sometimes the Lit teachers ask really stupid questions. And they could kindly print the instructions bigger that we only had to do ONE question out of Section A, because I did two of them.
I ended up crushing one piece of foolscap, which ultimately meant that one more tree out in the jungle would have to be cut down. Now I'm no Green Earth Club Chairman, but I am concerned about the weather. If the weather stays as bloody warm as it is, I'll have to freaking wear short pants everyday and I don't like it because it doesn't fit me. So don't try to destroy the environment anymore. After learning organic Chemistry, I've truly realised the importance of the ecosystem.
Right, back to the question. I think I'm like a galvanometer, always deflecting to the left or right when I'm supposed to focus on something.
1a) From this extract (where Eddie was abusing Beatrice), what can you infer about women's role in the play?
Mrs Albar, though you are not Chinese, I'm sure that after many years of working in RI, you should have at least heard of this phrase - 断章取义。One must not infer anything from just anywhere, one must look at the big picture! Anyway Beatrice keeps exerting herself, she's not really a woman. In fact I suspect she's a transsexual, so your question really doesn't apply. Reminds you of some RI teacher doesn't it - the transsexual bit? But please refer to my latest English discursive essay - "Are Men Necessary?" and if you would look hard enough, I've put connotations and overtones that women are necessary. As the play is about life and women are necessary in life, I conclude that women are necessary. Beatrice might not be one, but like I said I like to look at the big picture.
1b) Compare this with Little Ironies. (I've shortened the question from like 50 words to just 5 thanks to Puay Hock's 长文缩短 lessons.)
In Little Ironies, the women are really old. They are burdens and really don't do much except sap up the economy. They demand a hell lot and only supply curses and insults (with relation to Economics), thus being very.. redundant. When compared to A View From The Bridge, it is obvious that Little Ironies are the direct opposite. If VfB is a North pole, Little Ironies must be the South - for Catherine Lim, though being a woman, is trying to insult womanhood here. There is a possibility that she might be a transsexual as well, but let's leave that out. Indeed, VfB respects women more than Little Ironies.
2) What makes "A View From The Bridge" a tragedy?
I never said it was, so don't assume. I find it a comedy, as Eddie Carbone only serves to remind me about a certain member of my class.
I fail unseen prose (Question 3) - so let's not discuss that.
Overall, I think I failed two papers today - but it doesn't matter anymore. Because now I have Pokémon!! AND MSN!!
Life seems so much more interesting that way.
In any case, since the CTs are all over, I'd like to thank the following people for inspiring me to survive this tough and dark period of my life:
Chandru, for empowering me with skills to differentiate/integrate.
Puay Hock, for reminding me about Chinese "O" levels ahead.
Neoh, for letting me abuse the register right in the middle of CTs.
Ming Kiat, for always being the respectable figure he is.
Chong Zhi, for mugging as much as me throughout the tests.
Huang Lu, for comparing MCQ questions.
Treecko, for always being at the head of my line-up.
Poochyena, for being able to run away from battles (unfortunately not CTs).
Recorder, for providing me an outlet (literally) when I needed to blow my frustrations.
And last but not least, Fleming, Lenz and Faraday, for bloody pulling down MY GPA!!
I still can't believe it's over, man.
After CTs proves to be as no life as ever. Let me tell you what I did after Literature, which ended at 12.
12-1:15 Tried to play waterpolo but Elango the Mango didn't allow us.
1:15-1:40 Debated on whether to watch "Goal!" or not, which would be like, my first non-official movie in.. four years? Oh wait I didn't watch movies in primary school either, so I'm a noob at movies. Haven't watched any movies with friends at cinemas. Well done. I gave up the chance.
1:40-2:10 Lunch at J8.
2:10-4:40 Err, still at Food Junction. We were just sitting down and having a nice chat. Imagine 4 munjens and 1 indian sitting down around one table, discussing topics like.. certain classmates, certain scandals and most dominantly Pokémon.
Then I went home! Fulfilling indeed.
Okay instead of boring you with my boring schedule I think I'd post some pictures. It depicts the reality of the interhouse competition 2005. You might say it's biased, but I report it with as much accuracy as possible. I know, Bayley's words might be slightly hard to read since it's in yellow, but hell it doesn't matter. This is in commemoration with Bayley's winning of the title as well as the end of CTs. Since the end of the CTs more or less rounds up the academic year, let's round up the year of interhouse competitions as well!
Have fun.
For I will. I'm going on MSN this very minute. I figured that since I went like ten days without it a few more minutes would not kill me.
Official duration without MSN: 260 hours (3 sf)
Oh and tomorrow's interclass soccer Group Stage! Good luck to all classes except 4A to 4I and 4K to 4R.
