But in the spirit of Labour Day, I decided to be hardworking and do a review of a rally I attended the night before. The rally of *SHOCK PLEASE* WORKERS' PARTY! Baskit since they were workers and since I figured that doing my homework counts me as a worker too, I decided to go show some support. After all, are we all not workers? Plus I had never been to an election rally before so I thought this should be quite funny.
It was. Or at least I think it should be funnier than the May Day rally that was supposed to go on today. I was also pondering why Labour Day = May Day. Is it because I may choose not to labour on that day? Or is it because many people go into labour in May. That's not a very important point but sometimes these little things get on your nerves.
I think whoever is making the May Day rally should just call a spade a spade. Call labour labour. Labour Day is not May Day because there is certainly more than one day in May.
Nevertheless where was I? Oh yes elections. I figured WP has a high chance of pwning everyone if the elections were to be held today because workers are often regarded as "labour". The term "workers" is synonymous with "labour", isn't it? So Labour Day = Workers' Party Day. But UNFORTUNATELY NO! The elections are to be held at a later date. No free frag for WP.
Anyway after last night's rally I decided to be a fan of WP. And I think everyone should be too. If you do live in a district where WP is contesting, vote for them please. I'll give you my reasons later, as well as why do I support them. My support for WP is based on my Illogical Thinking and my Illogical Logic. Whether you choose to believe me or not is up to you, but you'll find out later that my Illogical Logic is actually rather believable. Erm but unfortunately I live in the peaceful district of Bishan-Toa Payoh GRC where there are no opposition candidates to challenge.. so I'm here trying to help out WP in other districts.
After all, isn't that what the PM and SM does? They also help out in other districts anyway (esp SM, since his district bo dai ji) - and hence judging by the similarities in our behaviours (ie liking to help out candidates in other districts), I figure that one day I'll become some important minister. PM or SM never mind. I think I can be both.
Anyway I learnt quite some stuff at the rally, and here's why you should support WP.
1) We are all workers
But not all of us are people (because there are MONSTERS around), and not all of us like to be damn action. I'm sure at any point of your life you must have worked anyway, so we are in effect all workers. In fact, PAP also does work so by right they should be WP too. All hail WP man.
2) They are THE HAMMERS
Now you might not be able to tell the similarities here, but WP has the hammer as their logo and the nickname of the great West Ham United, FA Cup finalists (and champions?) 2006, ARE THE HAMMERS! The hammer is a powerful instrument, and they are always right. Why? Because they HIT THE NAIL ON THE HEAD! Hence if you don't support the hammers I don't see what else you are going to support.
3) WP means Will Pwn
Who doesn't want to win? So of course we want to pwn. If you are a West Ham fan (ie if you're smart), then WP = West Ham Pwns. Which is even better, of course. WP forever!!
4) Their name very funny
As a former Lit student, I've learnt the techniques of irony and oxymorons. Well Workers.. Party? How on earth do you party when you are working? That is something that I cannot figure out, but give them credit for it, it's not often that someone can come up with such a cool and funky party name. Hahahaha Workers Party indeed! Jokes..
So although it is Labour Day, there is always the dear WP to remind you.. that even though you are a Worker, you can still Party! And oh by the way there's this Labour Party in English politics. Quite cool isn't it. Well never mind I guess I'm off to Labour to the night, then when it's past midnight it's party time. For those who are eligible to vote and is reading this blog, VOTE WP YEA!
Unless your district is WP (Walkover PAP). Then of course 无稽之谈 la.
