Chinese Surnames

Many people think Chinese surnames are boring traditional stuff and don't bother about them. Some people no longer have Chinese names, who knows maybe next time some people will no longer have Chinese surnames? But in line with the gahmen's huayu cool! campaign, I tell you that there is room for creativity in Chinese surnames and names.

Just the other day I went to take the French proficiency test also known as DELF, and they have the whole list of candidates on the board. So being a curious soul, I went to take a look at the names of other candidates, and lo and behold, there was light! There was someone named Sun Shine! Now i think that is a very creative use of Chinese because i assume the person has the surname 孙 and created a fusion between the chinese world and the western world by having the name Sun Shine. I think this is an idea that can be further explored. In fact, I would go as far as to say that it may make a good project.

I have several suggestions. If your surname is Tan, you can name your child Tan cos sin or Tan sin cos, which would be a perfectly mathematical name. With such a name, trigo will be a total breeze, later grow up sure become the world's greatest mathematician. The reason why Chinese have so few top mathematicians is because there is no one named Tan cos sin or Tan sin cos. It's that simple.

If your surname is Lim, then you can have an french name Un for one and I Ted for chinese name somehow, then you have a child whose potential is Unlimited.

If your surname is Lin then you can have a chinese name 一then the full name would be Lin E, or line for short, which i think is super-cool.

Yup that's all for now, it's lame enough as it is, and wtf! I just realised that lame is a possibitly for your child's name if your surname is Lam. omg.
